Based in Olympia, Washington, I am a conservation ecologist who works to classify, inventory, and set conservation priorities for Washington's ecological systems and plant communities. This work, as well my travels on the weekends, brings me to some amazing places as well as to landscapes where biodiversity has been lost or is threatened by excessive human-induced impacts.
The images I share here are my interpretations of some precious encounters with the natural world that I hope will inspire others to appreciate our natural heritage.
I have also embarked on a journey of photo documenting Washington's biodiversity (Washington's Biodiversity gallery) and in the future I hope to document issues associated with managing and protecting biodiversity (Conservation Issue gallery).
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to leave a note in my Guestbook with suggestions, comments, questions, or just to say hello.
